What this site knows about you

A short page, because the answer is short. There is no form, no mailing list, no account, no advertising, and nothing here that follows you anywhere.

Far Chair collects nothing from readers deliberately, and the reason is specific to this subject rather than a general preference.

People arrive at pages like this one having already decided to research a medical problem. What they would type into any box we offered — which teeth, what has been quoted, what has gone wrong — is health information about themselves. The safest way to handle that is not to hold it, so there is no box.

There is no form, and that is the design

You will not find a contact form, an enquiry form, a quote form, a newsletter box or a "get matched with a clinic" widget anywhere here. There is one email address, on the contact page, and an email you choose to send is something you control.

There is no account to create, nothing to log into, and no mailing list, so there is no list you can end up on.

Cookies

Far Chair does not put a cookie on your device for advertising, profiling or measurement. There is no advertising network on these pages, no tag manager, no social embed, no comment system and no chat widget — the categories of third-party code that do most of the following-around on the web are simply not present.

If the site is ever put behind a service that needs a strictly technical cookie to serve pages at all, it will be named here, with what it does and how long it lasts, before it is switched on.

What a web server unavoidably sees

Any server that sends you a page receives a request to send it. That request contains your IP address, the address of the page, the time, and the browser and operating system your device announces. Standard server logs of that kind are how a site is kept running and how a broken link gets noticed. They are not combined with anything else, not sold, not shared with advertisers, and not used to build a picture of an individual reader.

This site links to documents: government advice, regulators' guidance, health service policies, published fee schedules. Following one takes you to an organisation with its own privacy practices and, in most cases, its own cookies. We have no visibility of and no control over any of that, and no arrangement with any of them.

What you will not find is a link to a clinic, an agency or a booking platform. There are none anywhere on this site, paid or unpaid — the disclosure page explains that in full.

Children

Nothing here is written for or directed at children, and no age-related information is requested, because no information is requested at all.

Corrections to this page

If the site's arrangements change — a technical cookie, a hosting move that alters what is logged — this page is rewritten and re-dated before the change goes live rather than after it. Questions about any of it go to [email protected].
