Write to us — with one large exception
Corrections, sources and questions about the site are welcome. Anything about your own teeth is not something we are able or allowed to answer.
The exception first
We cannot answer a question about your teeth, your treatment plan or your quote. Not "we would rather not" — we are not qualified to, nobody here is a dentist, and an answer from us would be worth less than nothing to you because it would sound informed.
If you have a question about a specific plan, the person to ask is a dentist who can examine you. If you have already been given a plan by a clinic abroad, the useful second opinion is from someone with no financial interest in whether you go. The General Dental Council's advice on this is worth repeating: speak to your own dentist first, because they can advise you based on your dental history and will need to know your plans in case of later complications.
If you are in pain, have facial swelling, a fever, difficulty swallowing or breathing, bleeding that will not stop, or an injury to your teeth or jaw, do not write to a website. Contact a dentist, an urgent dental service or emergency services now.
What we would genuinely like to hear
- Corrections. If a figure here is wrong, out of date, or has been superseded, tell us, ideally with the link. We will fix it and date the fix.
- Primary sources we have missed. Particularly anything published by a health service, a dental regulator or a public payer in a destination country. There are gaps in the fact log we would love to close.
- Documents behind a wall. Two of the gaps on this site exist because a document would not open from here: one national licence register and one coding bulletin that sits behind a licence click-through. If you can reach either, we would like to know what it says.
- Questions about how the site works — where a number came from, why something is not covered, why nothing is linked.
How to reach us
Email [email protected]. One person reads it, so a reply is not instant, and a message that needs a clinical answer will get a polite note pointing back up this page rather than an opinion.
There is no form on this site, and that is deliberate. A form would collect what you typed into it, and what people type into a form on a page like this is their medical history. We would rather not hold that at all than hold it carefully.
There is also no mailing list, so there is nothing to unsubscribe from. If a page changes in a way that matters, the change is on the page, dated.
